Matariki

Jack,  Kaliea, Ameria, Angela were designing there
kite for maori language week.
We decided to make kites as part of Maori language week as well as Matariki. On  the Friday the school walked up to the domain to fly their kites.

Something Pretty Cool

Saw this today on a facebook share, and wanted to share it with you.  Pretty amazing and it puts things into size context.
Let me know what you think.

Hands on Homework Week 3

Hopefully we have got some budding photographers happening with our May photo challenge. We are now just over half way.

For this weeks activity I have picked something everyone can do.  Some more challenging than others. The links provided are a mixture of abilities.

Have a go see how many you can make

Have Fun!!!

Welcome Back

Hey All!

Hope you had a great holiday.

For hands on homework i'll be trying things a little bit different.  I'll be putting up something different each Monday.  You can pick how much or little you want to do.

For this week is it a photo a day.  Try and get creative and think outside the box.  If you want some of your pictures placed on the blog, then just email them to chris@tkp.school.nz and i'll place them on here.

Hands on Homework

For hands on Homework,  I would like you to create a family tree to be displayed in class.  This will be used with our current topic of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.  I would like you to be creative on how you display this ( e.g. not the old way)  You have until the 18th April for these to be completed.  If you have any questions please comment.

Thanks

Swimming

Swimming season has now finished for this part of the year.  For part of our swimming programme we looked at water safety and what we could do if we got into difficulty.  Over a few weeks we built up the time we could tread water and the amount of lengths we could do without stopping.  To make it even more difficult we had to do it with clothes on.  Our final challenge was to tread water for 3 minutes, swim 10 lengths non stop and remove our extra clothing in the deep end.  It was hard work but we all did it.  Here are some vids of us doing it.
